Dr. Kaylin Van Horn was born in upstate New York where she lived until she was 11. Her family then moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she grew up competing in hunters, jumpers and equitation. She moved across the country to complete her undergraduate studies in Animal Science at the Ohio State University with plans to go to veterinary school. She continued her professional training at the College of Veterinary Medicine at OSU and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. While in veterinary school, Dr. Kaylin developed a special interest in sport horse medicine and lameness. She spent time training at multiple large referral hospitals such as Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital and Palm Beach Equine Clinic.
After graduation, Dr. Kaylin completed a one-year equine ambulatory internship at Bella Vista Equine Veterinary Services where she expanded her skills and knowledge in emergency, sports medicine, internal and preventative medicine. She went on to practice as an associate at a private practice for two years as an official horse show veterinarian for USEF and NSBA competitions at the World Equestrian Center - Wilmington and Kentucky Horse Park, and has experience treating horses from pleasure up to FEI level. After gaining experience treating top-level performance horses, she and her husband decided it was time to start a family. After their son was born, they moved to Florida to begin their new adventures as a family and fulfill their dreams of designing an innovative equine veterinary practice. One of her goals with building this practice is advancing her skills regularly. In 2023 she completed a 92-hour continuing education program to become certified in Veterinary Medical Manipulation through Chi University in Reddick, FL. Additionally, she plans to continue her knowledge and skills through working towards a distinguished ISELP (International Society of Locomotor Pathology) certification for lameness diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Kaylin’s professional interests include sport horse medicine and emergency medicine. She feels strongly that veterinarians are advocates for their animal patients, and making their lives better is one of the greatest joys in her career. She values the relationships she builds with owners and their horses as well as other equine professionals, and her approach is highly team-oriented.
Dr. Kaylin and her husband Tyler recently welcomed their son Roman Ezekiel in April of 2022. Most of her free time is spent either with her son, husband and their four dogs, riding horses, or spending time on the water with family and friends. She continues to compete on her horse, Pearl Izumi and enjoy time with her pasture ornaments, Mick & Jet.

Meeko is a Mini Goldendoodle/Setter mix that has been in the Van Horn family since he was 4 months old. He was born to be a truck dog, and while he loves his job, he dreams of being a therapy dog some day when Dr. Kaylin finds the time. He absolutely loves hugs, making people smile, cat food and other snacks he is gifted while at work.
